Just to show how much time has truly passed - Here is Levi in November at 10 1/2 months old. He sits, he crawls, but very little standing and no walking yet. |
Today - Levi at 16 months old. He's really grown a lot over the past 6 months! Here he is doing what he loves - running! He's rather quick, too. |
Wow, so much really has happened over the past six months. I do plan to go back and re-post about most of it, so just be patient and bear with me because there is quite a bit to catch up on.
Perhaps the biggest news that I neglected to write about was the fact that we are expecting our second child this summer! June 23rd is the official due date, which means that as of today I am 34 weeks pregnant. Only 6 weeks left... (slow, deep breath, Laura... and repeat... slow, deep breath...). Ha!
Here's the picture we gave my Dad and step-mom as an announcement that we were expecting again. On the bottom of their picture it read "Gallegos - Family of Four - June 2012" |
Well, about 3 weeks later we had our official ultrasound and anatomy scan. Believe it or not, the ultrasound tech told us she thought we were having a girl, but couldn't guarantee it due to the position of the umbilical cord! I could not stop smiling, and not because I was excited about a girl, but because this left us with NO IDEA what this baby was. (AND I thought it was even funnier that we had already announced to the world we were having a boy!) I found myself pretty giddy about the idea of not knowing. However, curiosity ultimately took over - I felt like we had already opened the flood gates by peaking at the baby twice, and the uncertainty of gender was just too much at that point. So naturally a third ultrasound was in order, and another under cover, super stealth, ninja-like sneak peak took place. Girl it is!! Yes, there's always a chance this not so tiny human inside of me is a boy, but we feel like the odds are in favor of a girl, so we are proceeding as such and preparing to bring home a little misses in June.
Long story, I know. But for us it's a fun story and one we don't want to forget. AND, it will be even MORE fun if we do end up with a boy! I'm pretty sure I will be laughing for years if that's the case. Either way, no matter what, we already love baby #2. God has already blessed us with the most amazing son we could have ever imagined - can't wait to see what God has planned for the next one!!
